"ELLIE 9 yr old GSD Bitch"
"I had to have my beautiful girl put down on Mon (28/03/2005) - she just went off her
legs suddenly. On the evening I stayed with her told her I loved her and am hoping shes now playing
(in her case scrapping!!) with all her old mates at Rainbow Bridge

Feisty . Frisky . Fearless Friendly ... all, of those ....
But only - as and when - it suited you !!
We certainly had our moments Girl
Like the day at the farm when you decided to playfully nip a calves nose
Or the strange disliking you took to the workman exit ting from a manhole
Or all the dogs necks you sooooo liked to playfully nibble on
And all the postmen delivery men who so tried to brave your fearsome bark
(You could make the gate in 10 seconds - they could run in 5 )
But all that only served to make you soooo my dog
and of course I always defended you to the hilt
I probably loved you more than I loved my partner
You were definitely more loyal and faithful
Wet nose , liquid brown eyes , gleaming coat
You'll be in your element now - playing so freely at Rainbow Bridge
Bet you've already had your first scrap !!
It seemed so unfair to lose you so young
But you'd have hated growing old
You never did anything with any grace
So that would've been too much to ask of you
Had I ever been a dog myself I would've soooo been you

Epilogue from Ellie
You treat me kindly always
For no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness
Than the loving heart of a dog
You never broke my spirit - your patience and understanding
Always prevailed and I learnt quickly through that style
You spoke to me often - I hear your voice still
It was the worlds sweetest music and I accompanied you enthusiastically
With the fierce wagging of my tail
As your footsteps fell upon my waiting ear
When it was too cold and wet you took me indoors
Aware that as a domesticated creature I could no longer withstand
The sometimes bitter elements
But I would have gratefully followed you though ice and snow
Just to be with you and enjoy that special closeness we shared
But our home was always the warmest in the land -
your love made sure of that
You always kept my water bowl full and my belly never rumbled
You ensured I stayed bright and healthy enabling me to romp and play
To walk by your side and protect you with my own life
Should there ever have been any impending danger
You held me gently in strong warm arms as you granted me eternal rest
Kindred spirits united as I calmly drew my last breath -
Always knowing my life was safe in your hands
And so my beloved owner and friend I am no longer at your side in body
But my spirit lives on - It is now my job to look after you
from a safe haven up at Rainbow Bridge - that one day you will join me and together we will celebrate our life again
